Mark Schmaltz and Kurt Kohler met in 1978 while flying for Wings West Airlines (Ask them if they've ever flown to Mammoth Lakes!!)  Between flights, they'd often discuss plans for their futures and the possibility of someday starting their own aviation company.  In late 1982, suddenly unemployed, they decided the time was right to do just that.

By 2006, the company employed over 100 employees, nearly 60 pilots, and offered aircraft management, maintenance, and worldwide charter services.

Kurt and Mark remained involved in aviation as businesses across the economy adapted to the new fiscal realities.  Many who had worked with and for Spirit maintained contact with Mark and Kurt.

Today, Dreamline Aviation, like its predecessor, again offers turbo-prop and cabin class aircraft services to destinations around the world.
